Police squad cars will soon carry defibrillators for medical emergencies.
The Village Board Tuesday approved the purchase of 17 defibrillators along with support equipment, enough for all squad cars. The cost is $39,100, more than $20,000 of which will be covered by grants.
The devices will be purchased from Medtronic, a company that has provided similar equipment to the Arlington Heights Fire Department and Northwest Community Hospital.
