– Traditionally, when GMC and Chevrolet share a model, Chevy gets the bulk of production because it’s General Motors’ volume division, and GMC gets the minimum. Not so with the 2002 GMC Envoy and Chevy TrailBlazer sport-utility vehicles that share the same platform. “Used to be a 3-to-1 Chevy to GMC production split, but with Envoy it’s 2-to-1,” said Tony DiSalle, Envoy brand manager. “One reason, however, is that while we dropped our compact Jimmy, Chevy kept its compact Blazer to have a low-end model.”
