Anthony “Tony” A. Jara, age 85, proud veteran of World War II, was born into eternal life on September 15, 2001. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene, nee Kowalczyk and the wonderful, devoted and loving father of Dorothy (Mike) Gorski, Lester Jara and Laurie (Paul) Swigart. He loved and was loved by his granchildren, Michael and Marcyrene Gorski, James, Hayley and Tony Swigart and the late Mary Ann Puckett. He was a dear brother of Josephine, the late Harold Haibeck, Walter (Alice) Jara, the late Steve (Helen) Jara, the late Dora and Stanley Fortuna and the late Tillie and Jim Lubinski and brother-in-law of Adeline (Richard) Rusin. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed being a member of the Pinczow Group and the St. Simon’s Senior Club. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 9 p.m. at Zimmerman & Sandman Funeral Home, 5200 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn.
