I’ve always been safe and my kids have always been safe. But now things are not the same. After last week, I now know that there are people out there who want me dead. They want my children dead. They’ll plan and take action to make sure that happens. They’ll even sacrifice their own lives so that it happens.
This awareness is what has changed me. Perhaps it is the most sobering change of all. Maybe we can change it back. I have hope, but for now, things are not the same.
