Regarding Don Pierson’s Sept. 21 column, I think the Beatles said it best when they sang, “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, life goes on.” I, for one, will never root for a New York team as long as I live, regardless of how many other tragedies strike that city.

It’s not that I’m not patriotic, it’s just that I’m very anti-New York, especially its sports teams. I couldn’t have been happier last January when my beloved Ravens stomped the Giants in Tampa Bay.

Do I have sympathy for the city of New York? Yes. Will I be sympathetic to their sports teams? Never.
