Titans receiver Justin McCareins will have someone to rehab with while he’s recovering from ankle surgery.
Both McCareins, a rookie from Northern Illinois, and his rottweiler had surgery at the same time Wednesday, the Nashville Tennessean reported. The dog, Spike, was having ACL surgery on his knee.
McCareins will be out six to eight weeks. Spike will be out 10 weeks.
“When Justin’s doctor found out about Spike, he told him he should have brought the dog in and gotten a two-for-the-price-of-one,” said Cliff Brady, McCareins’ agent.
New Heisman address
The Heisman Trophy presentation has been moved from the Downtown Athletic Club to the New York Marriott Marquis because of damage to the club’s building in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
It will mark the first time in 67 years that the trophy will be presented somewhere other than the DAC.
Say what?
`I think the only thing he doesn’t have is a good understanding of the game. He doesn’t understand that the season isn’t 181 games long.’
– Reggie Jackson on Derek Jeter
