This is in response to Rev. Jesse Jackson’s statement in “Jackson backs travel vouchers; plan would boost economy, he says,” (Metro, Nov. 4), suggesting that the government should issue $25 billion worth of travel vouchers for the next six months.

Perhaps Rev. Jackson should be reminded of a statement that was made 40 years ago and, now more than ever, holds true: “Ask not what your country can do for you–ask what you can do for your country.”
