I watched the Bears-Packers game Sunday and was totally disgusted with the offensive game plan. I charted the first 12 passes. Ten were thrown 3 yards or less beyond the line of scrimmage. Two of those were first-down attempts that failed. The other two passes were for 10 yards or more.
This is what offensive coordinator John Shoop calls week after week: dink passes for short yardage that are easy to defend. They are easy to defend because the other team knows what’s coming. This is not a game plan, it’s a Xerox copy.
Mr. Shoop continues to affirm that this type of play will continue. That is good news for Bears opponents, not good news for Bears fans.
