This is regarding “Cemeteries are landscapes for the living” (Home & Garden, Dec. 23).

When people hear that as a young high school and then working girl (I am now definitely a Social Security person), I spent many a free afternoon sitting by the pond in Rosehill Cemetery, reading and enjoying warm summer afternoons, they think maybe I was a little weird. Not only was I not weird, I was on to a really good thing. In the midst of the city, I found a place to nourish my mind with good books, and nourish my soul with peace and lovely surroundings.

Give it a try, all you people frantic with the hustle and bustle of city life. You might be surprised.
