I am very much relieved that Marilyn Lemak has been found guilty of murder as opposed to being acquitted due to insanity.
Still Lemak should be spared the death penalty–not because of her gender but because capital punishment, while not intrinsically evil, is no longer necessary to protect society, which is already experiencing a vast culture of death.
