A culture steeped in the traditions of pop and disco might seem an unlikely one in which to find dance honoring the deity. But the styles on view in liturgical dances at various churches throughout the Chicago area in December included slow, fast, solemn and joyous movement, appealing to several ethnic groups, a variety of religious creeds and all ages.
