Vice President Dick Cheney refuses to give documents regarding Enron to the General Accounting Office on the grounds that he wishes to restore power to the Executive Branch that has been wrested away by Congress. And yet, the executive branch has engaged us in a war without it being declared by Congress, the only branch of our government with the constitutional right to do so.
If Cheney is prepared for the nation to look at powers lost by the presidency, I hope he’s equally prepared to examine the powers gained.
