Frank Stanley, 91, Attorney at Law, of Riverside, IL and Deer Park Township, LaSalle County, died peacefully at home, beloved husband for 59 years of the late Marie Catherine; loving father of Kathryn Stanley Podwall of Long Island, NY, Marie (Lt. Col. Ret. Philip L.) Geishert of Annandale, VA and Fran (James) Mirro of Willowbrook, IL; proud grandfather of James Joseph and Marie Catherine Mirro; cherished brother of eight, preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; dear friend to many. Mr. Stanley received the degree of Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago in 1939. Shortly thereafter he was accepted to the Illinois State Bar entitling him to the private practice of law from 1939 through 1977. He then was engaged as Pension Manager for the United Food and Commercial Workers Local #100 in Chicago through 1989, after which he resumed a limited practice of law until the date of his death. Mr. Stanley was a member of the Supreme Court of the United States, the State of Illinois Bar Association, the United States District Court, Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity, United States Power Squadrons, the Marine Navigation and Training Association aboard the Motor Vessel Manatra, Rotary International and former advocate and 4th Degree member of the Cardinal Council #1691 Knights of Columbus. An adventurer at heart and a man of vision, his hobbies included travel, tree farming and conservation, and reading non-fiction literature. His travels took him throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Russia via the Tran Siberian Railway, Japan, China, Central and South America, Australia and the United States.
