Eileen Ryan, 94, a retired office systems manager for the FBI, died Monday, Feb. 11, in Alden Prairie Village in Orland Park of natural causes. One of nine children, Ms. Ryan, her mother and younger brother moved from Minneapolis to Chicago in 1928 after her father died in a train accident. In 1931, she took a job as a clerk in the Chicago office of the FBI, working her way up to assistant chief clerk. In 1953, she moved to Los Angeles to become office systems manager for the Los Angeles FBI office. She remained in that position until 1973, when she retired. She stayed in California, taking vacations to Palm Springs and Europe. “She was very elegant but had a dry sense of humor,” said her great-nephew Charles Beck. In 1990, she moved back to the Chicago area to be near family. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Blake-Lamb/Becvar Funeral Home, 11201 S. Harlem Ave., Worth. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 15050 S. Wolf Rd., Orland Park.
