Robert Ross “Bob” Falconer, 81, of St. Charles, a retired heavy-machine operator, died of leukemia Friday, Feb. 15, in Alderwood Health Care Center, South Elgin. Born in Earl Park, Ind., Mr. Falconer was raised in Chicago. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as part of the 72nd Naval Construction Battalion in the Pacific. After his military service, Mr. Falconer worked in the construction industry as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 in Countryside. He worked with cranes and backhoes in commercial construction projects in the Chicago area. He retired in 1980. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eileen; three sons, James, Robert and Stephen; a daughter, Nancy; a brother, James; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. 3rd St., St. Charles. Services will be during the visitation at 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
