Lilyan Griffith, 91, a woman who volunteered extensively in Naperville, died Monday, Feb. 18, in Sunrise Assisted Living in Naperville of complications from dementia. Born in 1910 in Chicago, Mrs. Griffith worked as a bookkeeper from 1925 to 1934 for Crown Stove Works in Cicero. She also was employed by Firstar Bank from 1956 to 1965 as a clerical worker and returned there in the 1970s. Mrs. Griffith moved to Naperville in 1954. She was a longtime member of the Naperville Woman’s Club and also worked for the Art Guild of Naperville, the Naperville Humane Society, the Serendipity Shop and Little Friends. She was awarded the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award from the Jaycees of Naperville. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Krause; and two brothers, George Krapec and Raymond Krapec. Services were private.
