John J. Grigas, philosopher, poet, artist and curmudgeon, died Saturday, in Madison, WI. He lived life with passion and always responded with “I’ve gotta be me!” John was universally loved and his life revolved around his beautiful granddaughters Renee and Melinda, his wife Sharon and their children, John, Kathleen, and Jim. He loved their partners, Kristine, John Dibling and Theresa (respectively) as if they were his own. He will live on in his brothers, Joseph (Marci) and Donald (Patti), and his sister, Jan (Bill) Magee. He is preceded in death by his older brother, Edward, and his parents, Edward and Beatrice. Visitation will be 12 noon Saturday, March 2, at Thornridge Funeral Home, 15801 Cottage Grove Rd., Dolton, IL 708-841-2300 with memorial service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please go to the doctor.
