It was an excellent letter from Joe Merrick. I do not think many people know how many outstanding single-parent fathers there are. My brother-in-law is one of them. He manages a full-time job, his son (who is involved in lots of activities) and a household that includes pets. He can run circles around many of the moms I know.
And he, like Merrick, does not think he is anything special. He is just a father who loves his son very much and is being a responsible parent.
He is much more: He is a hero to a son who loves him very much.
To all the single-parent fathers out there: I noticed, and job well done!
