Richard E. Mitchel, gardner, hiking enthusiast and bird watcher, died February 23 in his home in Mesa, AZ. He had been retired for the past 14 years and enjoyed each day as it came. He is survived by the love of his life Josephine, nee Kerr; daughters Linda (Dan) Mitchel-May, Kim (Rod) Mitchel; grandchildren Adam and Scott May; brother James (Virginia) Mitchel, sister LaVern (Bob) O’Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Mitchel, Blue Island, IL. A private memorial service was held in the Arizona Mountains, he loved where his ashes were scattered. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution to your local hospice is appreciated.
