There are seven ranch and two-story floor plans with 3,168 to 3,872 square feet. They have two to four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, breakfast areas, living rooms, master suites, basements and attached two-car garages. Base prices range from $490,990 to $564,990. Woodburning fireplaces, central air conditioning and oak or ceramic flooring are standard. Some great rooms have two-story ceilings.
The brick and cedar buildings have two, three or four units on winding roads and cul-de-sacs.
One of the plans is the 3,872-square-foot Danbury, which has three bedrooms, including a first-floor master suite, 2 1/2 baths, a great room with two-story ceiling, a breakfast room offa wood deck, and formal dining and living rooms with vaulted ceilings. It is base-priced at $490,990.

– Pre-construction sales have begun for the Meridian, an 80-unit condominium development in northwest suburban Des Plaines by R. Franczak & Associates.
Base prices range from $194,900 to $250,900 for eight floor plans ranging from 1,290 to 1,570 square feet. All are two-bedroom plans.
Two stone-and-brick six-story buildings, one with 50 units and the other with 30, are planned..
The largest of the floor plans is the 1,570-square-foot Kensington with two bedrooms and two baths. The corner unit has walk-in closets in each bedroom and in the foyer, a laundry room with tub, and a whirlpool tub and separate shower in the master bath. It is base-priced at $240,900.
