Ernest W. Schlueter, 89, of Hanover Park, a retired school bus driver for Schaumburg School District 54, died Saturday, March 2, in St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Born in Colorado, Mr. Schlueter worked for 35 years as an engineer for the Chicago & North Western Railroad. After he retired from the railroad in the late 1970s, Mr. Schlueter became a school bus driver. “He was very handy,” said his wife of 57 years, Emma, who added that her husband piloted small airplanes and worked as a car mechanic. “He had a full life.” Other survivors include two sons, Larry and Allen; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, 1800 S. Rodenburg Rd., Schaumburg.
