Clarence Page’s diatribe against Pat Robertson is a classic example of liberal reality disconnect. Daily, plots are foiled whose sole purpose is to kill Americans or Israelis.
Yet Page insists Islam is a “peaceful” religion. The real problem, he would have us believe, is the religious right in this country.
Why?
Even though the majority of Arabs polled believe Israel was behind Sept. 11, they are basically decent, peaceful people.
What I have yet to hear is any foundation for this assertion.
It is, instead, Robertson and his ilk who, Page would have us believe, create and sustain the ill will toward the U.S. by the Arab world.
If four planes, 3,000 casualties, two towers and one slit throat are not evidence enough to the contrary, there will never be enough evidence. Yet Page and his colleagues in the media are simply making choices about what to believe.
