Why is it when the few times blacks are even pictured in the newspaper, the stories are often about poverty or crime? The Feb. 26 front-page headline read “Poor face day-care cuts,” with a picture of a black family. It’s another image contributing to the stereotype that all blacks are poor. Isn’t it time we start to show blacks in more positive news stories?
