Most career experts point to networking as key to success in a job hunt. Often overlooked, however, is the importance of networking within your own company.
In a recent survey, 90 percent of hiring managers say they prefer to find candidates for job openings from within the company. And 44 percent of them say they fill up to a quarter of their openings before they’re ever publicly advertised, supporting the adage that it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
Global outplacement firm Drake Beam Morin conducted the poll of more than 150 human resources professionals across the country.
