Raymond William Moreth, born 1922, passed 2002. Ray passed away on March 21, 2002 in Fort Myers, FL. Ray was a very beloved father, “Papa” and friend. His wife Hazel Moreth, preceded him in death in 1993. He worked for ComEd for 47 years prior to his retirement from the transportation department in 1986. After retiring, he became a “Snow Bird” spending his leisure times between homes in Land O’ Lakes, WI and Fort Myers, FL. Surviving family members include his brother, Ralph (Margie) Moreth and sister-in-law, Shirley Moreth, from the Chicago area; his son, Brad Joseph (Carol) Moreth, grandchildren Lisa and Ryan Pietrzak, from McHenry, IL; his daughter Deborah Jean (Edward) Smith along with his loving grandchildren Jennifer Lynn “Love Bug” and Brandon Edward, from Crossfield, TN. Also left behind is his loving companion and life partner Leona “Lee” Nelson. All will cherish his memories. Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 30, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 2700 Harlem Ave, Elmwood Park, IL. Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to The American Diabetes Foundation.
