Martin Ahlm of Chicago was born in Lonneberga, Sweden, May 30, 1909 and died in Chicago, March 25, 2002, loving father of Donald (Phyllis) of South Holland, Illinois; and beloved grandfather of Karl and Kurt of Chicago; fond brother of Linnea Larsson and the late Ingegard Palmqvist and Marta Blomberg; caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 p.m. until time of service 7 p.m. Thursday April 4, 2002 at Nelson Funeral Home, 5149 N. Ashland at Foster. Interment private. He was past president of the American Union of Swedish Singers and the AUSS Cultural Heritage Foundation. Musical director of the Chicagoland Veteran’s Chorus and recipient of the Royal Order of Vasa among many accomplishments and honors.
