Chez Francois

14 S. 3rd St., Geneva

630-262-1000

Francois Sanchez closed his tapas restaurant, Granada, and converted the space into a classic French bistro. Given the relative paucity of French food in the area, this could prove to be a shrewd move.

Fortunato

2005 W. Division St.

Not quite open at press time, this casual Italian 75-seater in Wicker Park’s hot restaurant row features the talents of veteran chef Jennifer Newbury.

One North

1 N. Wacker Dr.

312-750-9700

Opening in early May, this latest restaurant by Roger Greenfield will be a contemporary American brasserie with an open kitchen. Its location, across from the Opera House, should guarantee it a steady pre-theater crowd.

Savoy Truffle

2728 W. Armitage Ave.

Wendy Gilbert closed her BYO, cash-only restaurant in order to move from Wicker Park to a Logan Square building with air conditioning and an outdoor-dining area. If it isn’t open quite yet, it should be soon.

Weber Grill Restaurant

539 N. State St.

Scheduled for a late-spring opening, this steak and barbecue concept cooks its entire menu–desserts included–on Weber grills. The city location is adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
