Living in peace with others is a basic principle of Judaism. The Israelis want nothing more than to be left alone to live and worship as they please.
Unlike many religions, Judaism does not seek converts. Jews are taught to honor and respect the religious beliefs of those who don’t believe as they do.
Jews also don’t seek the conquest of other nations or cultures. They will fight only to defend themselves–and even then they are reluctant to do so. They are psychologically able and willing to make peace with any willing group.
Tens of millions of impressionable Arab children and young adults have been taught from birth to hate Jews (and others who don’t believe as they do) and that it is an honor to kill them–that is, to destroy the “infidels.”
Only very emotionally damaged young people blow themselves up or cheer when others do so.
The current (predominantly young) population of Palestinian Arabs is most probably so damaged that its members are psychologically unable to make peace. No peace process can or will undo the damage that their education of hate has inflicted on them. They will not voluntarily live side-by-side with the Israelis. The Israelis (with the support of the United States and any other countries who want a stable Middle East) must ensure, with whatever safeguards they can put in place, that the Arabs bent on “pushing Israel into the sea” cannot do so.
