In an April 26 letter to the editor, P. Bronson asks, “How many Palestinian deaths equal one Israeli death?”
Answer: One.
“How many massacres equal a Holocaust?”
Answer: 6 million.
The word “massacre” is thrown around quite frivolously these days.
A dictionary defines “massacre” as “the indiscriminate killing in numbers of the unresisting or defenseless.”
Comparing the warfare that occurred in Jenin, and its impetus, with the Holocaust and the word “massacre” is not only absurd but ignorant.
