Robert P. Dalicandro, 83, of Phoenix, passed away on April 29, 2002. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Moreschi. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Dalicandro Daggett and her husband, Michael and Jean Marie Dalicandro and her companion, Glenn Keeler; sisters, Josephine Colombini and Rose Graham; brother, Tony Dalicandro; grandchildren, Anthony and Samantha; sister-in-law, Lena Jones and her husband Murray; brother-in-law Stanley Moreschi; and a loving family of nieces and nephews. He was born on June 12, 1918 in Chicago. He graduated from Crane Technical High School in 1937. He enlisted in the Army in 1941, was stationed in the Pacific and served faithfully as a gunner until 1945. He married his beloved Mary on Oct. 26, 1946. Known affectionately by his friends and family as “Bobby”, he was always willing to describe one of his many WWII experiences while sharing a cup of coffee. He enjoyed his trucks, his tools, and time spent with those he loved. Friends, acquaintances and business associates who held a special place in his heart were Louie Cosentino, Guy and Frank Coglianese, Carmie Messina and Dominic “Ace” Alterie, to name a few. His daughters attribute his success as a husband, father, brother, friend and businessman to his integrity, determination, generosity and sense of humor. He was a man who not only dreamed, he made those dreams come true. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2002 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables, Phoenix. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
