Robert Joseph Lowery, actor, teacher, playwright, father passed away May 2, 2002. He began his career as a singer making a number of recordings as well as touring with The Tommy Dorsey Band. His acting career took him from the Goodman Theater to off-Broadway capping his career with two Carbonell best actor awards. He was a professor at the University of Miami from 1963-1993 where he taught acting and directed. He is survived by brothers Jack, Fred, Frank, Richard, Joseph and sister Carol; his former wife Barbara; children Christy, Steven, Julie and Robert and grandchildren Kevin, Jessica, Alexandra, Edward and Andrew. A memorial Mass will be held Monday, May 6 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Newmann Catholic Church, 12125 SW 107th Ave., Miami, FL. Donations may be made to the Ring Theater, University of Miami in the name of Robert Lowery.
