Everett Case, whose high school coaching record of 726 victories was recognized for more than 30 years, has had more than 250 wins taken away by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
Erroneous information was listed on the Hall of Fame application for Case, who won four state tourney championships at Frankfort in the 1920s and ’30s. It was only recently corrected by the Hall’s board, executive director Roger Dickinson said.
The Hall now lists Case, who died in 1966, with 465 high school victories, dropping him to 30th among the state’s all-time coaches.
Don’t ask, don’t tell
The Seattle Mariners have eased their policy on the words that may appear on clothing at Safeco Field.
Under a change announced this week, stadium workers will take a “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach–at least when it comes to the word “suck.”
“This issue is better off going away,” Mariners spokesman Randy Adamack said.
Last month, several fans were told to remove or reverse T-shirts saying with offending phrases.
