William W. Leonard, age 82, beloved husband and companion of the late Mabel Francene Leonard, nee Clark and E. Gene Leonard, nee Brooks. Born and raised a fifth generation Chicagoan. Devoted father of Bruce W. (Donna) of Hudson, WI and Debra Sue (Mark) Klein of Arlington Heights, IL; fond grandfather of Andrew Ian and Michael William Leonard and Christopher Klein; dear son of the late Walter H. and the late Georgiana M., nee Savageau; brother of Russell C. (Kay), Norman H. (Angie) and the late Leona M.; uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. Retired Head Mechanical Design and Drafting Division Sargent and Lundy Engineers, WWII Army Engineer of Europe and Pacific Theaters, won Bronze Star-Rhineland Campaign, member American Legion Post #118, Past Master of UniversityLandmark (now Triune) Lodge #422 A.F. & A.M., Lansing, IL, member Medinah Temple and Scottish Rite, member Chicago Genealogical Society and Northern Illinois Civil War Round Table. Memorial services 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Interment private.
