Bette Lou Scanlan, age 79, employed by the Chicago Sun-Times for 45 years, devoted sister of Patricia (Gordon) Anderson; cherished aunt of Sharon (Dan Hubbell) Anderson, Debra (Steven) Ebert, Sandra (Bart) Schley and Bruce Anderson; great-aunt of Erik Kenas, Joel (Erin) Stewart, Shane Ebert, Shelley Ebert, Kristi Kittleson and Kory Kittleson; and great-great-aunt of Collin Stewart. Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles. Interment will be private and there will be no visitation.
