Two recent films by the award-winning Indian director Shyam Benegal will be presented as part of the Block Cinema series. They are “Sardari Begum,” about a young woman who wants to become a singer in spite of the disapproval of her family (8 p.m. Friday), and “Zubeidaa: The Story of a Princess,” the tragic tale of a young Muslim actress who marries into royalty (8 p.m. Saturday). Benegal will introduce both films. The series also will screen two films by Nicholas Ray: “Johnny Guitar” (8 p.m. Thursday) and “Bigger than Life” (8 p.m. May 30). Block Museum, 1967 S.
