There are some out there who may be feeling a little lost coming into “Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones,” which opened in theaters Thursday.
It picks up from “Episode I — The Phantom Menace,” which introduced moviegoers to 9-year-old Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who will eventually grow up to be the father of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, as well as a certain evil Dark Lord named Darth Vader.
In “Episode II,” we see Anakin (Hayden Christensen) 10 years later, as a young Jedi Knight, while his romance with Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman) — and his embrace of the Dark Side of the Force — intensifies.
Do not despair if all of this is getting to you, because some cherished memories remain from the first —
sorry, second — trilogy of “Star Wars” films. They come in the form of snatches of music (including the “Imperial Death March/Darth Vader” theme from “The Empire Strikes Back,” which still rocks the house).
There are also characters from the original trilogy appearing in different incarnations. All, that is, except one, sadly: Han Solo.
But here are a few of the players who will make you feel like you’re at home a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away . . .
