A college student was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery Friday in the March 30 slaying of a North Side man.
Andraun Bey, 21, of the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue, was ordered held on $750,000 bond in the slaying of Milton Washington, 23, of the 5300 block of North Ravenswood Avenue and the shooting of Charlie Jackson, 23, who was wounded in the left forearm.
Assistant State’s Atty. Jennifer Gonzalez said Bey got into an argument with Washington and Jackson about 2:30 p.m. March 30 in the 2700 block of North Hoyne Avenue. Bey pulled out a handgun and fired, Gonzalez said.
Jackson was hit in the arm as he was running away, and witnesses identified Bey as the gunman, Gonzalez said.
Bey’s public defender said his client was attending Washington Community College. A preliminary hearing is set for June 7.
