Dr. Edwin H. Draine, age 86, beloved husband of the late Clara B., nee Hennessey; loving brother of Richard (Alice) and the late Frank, Lucinda, Margaret, Harry (the late Anne), Katherine, Mary, James (the late Ruth), Eleanor (the late Lonnie) Phillips, Florence (the late Frank) Graham and Thomas (Dolly); dear uncle of Charles (Loyola) Draine, Francis (Marian) Draine, Patrick Draine, Rosemary Draine, Michael (Jean) Graham, Ann (Frank) Werner, Dr. Stephen (Jean-Marie) Graham, Larry (Deborah) Phillips, Betsy Draine (Michael Hinden), Katherine Draine and many others. Funeral Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St., Glenview, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, from 4 to 9 p.m. His love for family and country was always foremost. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and retired as a Captain from the United States Coast Guard. Dr. Draine was a professor of geography at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and also at Loyola University. He will be missed by all of us whose lives he touched. 773-736-3833 .
