Your May 22 editorial about short men having lower self-esteem may only have been repeating what the University of Pennsylvania reported, but my personal experience finds it to be completely false. The men in my family are short by today’s standards. Yet every single one of them has been highly accomplished in life.
My husband, father and father-in-law, all 5 foot 6, have been owners of long-running successful businesses, all highly regarded in their individual careers. My son, a student at a major university, has been a leader in many fields.
They all share one common trait–self-confidence.
Height is not a factor in how they perceive themselves, but believing they can reach their goals is.
