Peter Varellas, 82, of Hammond, IN, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2002, beloved husband of 50 years to Anne, nee Mavrides; loving uncle of Ariste (Peter) Wright; cherished great-uncle of Alexander James Wright; fond brother-in-law of Stella Mavrides. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 9 a.m. from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 7021 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN, Rev. David Bissias officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at The Burns- Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Mr. Varellas served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Pipefitters Local #597.
