Nancy E. Brown, 69, of Yonkers, NY, formerly of Chicago, died suddenly Tuesday, May 28 at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers, beloved sister of A. Peter (Carol V.) Brown of Bloomington, IN; aunt of Heidi E.V. Brown of Washington, DC; and daughter of the late Alfred P. and the late Helen J. Brown. For more than 45 years, Nancy was a teacher and administrator of programs for children and young adults with special needs in the Greater Chicago, Detroit, Boston and New York areas. She held a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia Teachers College, an M.A. from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and did post-graduate work at Fordham University and the Bank Street College (NY). Nancy also taught at the Hunter College Summer Demonstration School (NY) and was an adjunct instructor at the State University of New York at New Paltz, University of Michigan, the George Peabody College and Ball State University (IN). Visitation Saturday, June 1, from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service 2 p.m. at the Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral Home, 6467-71 N. Northwest Highway, Chicago.
