The government warns us that it is inevitable that terrorists will obtain nuclear weapons. The Bush administration warns us that suicide bomber attacks on U.S. soil are also inevitable.
It seems like every week this administration serves up some new, if vague, threat, such as the apartment-bomb scare. But are any useful measures being taken to avoid future attacks?

I’m beginning to think that the Bush administration is more interested in scaring people into submission, for purely self-centered political reasons, than in really tackling the serious problems our nation faces.
