Investigators Saturday were trying to determine the cause of a train derailment in Broadview that spilled thousands of pounds of powdered cornstarch.
The derailment of eight cars did not affect traffic, a police spokesman said, “but there was powder all over the place.” No one was injured.
Officials with the Canadian National Illinois Central Railroad were investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred about 10:40 p.m. Friday.
