The Board of Education has voted to discontinue breakfast programs at Frost Elementary School in Mt. Prospect and Grove Junior High in Elk Grove Village next school year.

At its meeting Monday, the board cited a lack of interest in a pilot program at those schools. The program at Jay Elementary School in Mt. Prospect will be continued at $1.25 per meal.

Also Monday, the board discussed positive feedback from a survey concerning special education classes.

The survey was mailed to the parents of the 650 children enrolled in the programs offered by the Arlington Heights-based district.

About 23 percent of the parents participated in the survey.

When asked how well the district met the needs of special-education pupils, 87 of 148 parents replied “excellent” and only two said “unsatisfactory.”
