President Bush and his father teamed up for a daybreak round of golf Saturday at the start of the president’s August getaway from Washington.
Bush rose before the sun for a 6 a.m. tee time with former President George Bush, 78, whose swing from an easier tee elicited a presidential order for applause from a nearby crowd of aides and reporters.

In dueling radio addresses Saturday, Bush leveled a veto threat against Senate Democrats tinkering with his proposal for a Department of Homeland Security while Democrats, represented by Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota, promised a fall fight over prescription drug legislation.
