Men’s style guru Alan Flusser will amplify advice from his latest book “Dressing the Man: Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion” (HarperCollins, $49.95) in Chicago on Thursday. That means pointers on how to mix shirts, ties and jacket patterns without causing people to stop, point and twitter, as well as picking a suit, collar and color that capitalize on a man’s strong points. Prefer to absorb such pointers in privacy? The book includes hundreds of photos of classic men of style, Fred Astaire and Tyrone Power among them. Flusser is a Coty Award-winning menswear designer and has written three other books, including “Style and the Man.” He will be at the clothing store George Greene, 49 E. Oak St., from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
