The ’80s are alive and up to no good on “Days of Our Lives” and “One Life to Live,” with classic villains doing new dastardly deeds. Andrew Masset reprises his “Days” role as Larry Welch, now holding his ex-wife, Hope, as his prisoner. Masset, who has been a successful computer consultant for the past decade, is close-mouthed about how long the role will last. Meanwhile, Roscoe Born, who was last seen on “All My Children” in 1997, as Jim Thomasen, has returned to the role he played on “One Life to Live” from 1985 to ’87, that of cult leader Mitch Laurence. Born’s role is also open-ended, as the character integrates himself into the lives of Llanview’s younger generation.

The Sheridan/Luis/Antonio love triangle on “Passions” is getting an unexpected plot twist with McKenzie Westmore’s announcement that she and husband Keith Volpone (“Seven”) are expecting a baby at the end of May. The couple were married last May, only a short while after they met on the “Passions” set.

Friday marks the final appearance of Gretchen Palmer as Serena on “Young and Restless.” The actress’ story line and contract have come to an end.

Rick Hearst has joined the cast of “General Hospital” as Daniel, a mysterious stranger who occupies the jail cell next to Jason and Carly, who have been taken prisoner in South America.
