Hays M. Heimbaugh, 97, of Schaumburg, formerly of Wheaton, beloved husband of the late Beatrice, nee Hean. He is survived by his loving brothers John Donald Heimbaugh Sr. of Omaha, NE and James Ross Heimbaugh of Palm Springs, CA and many nieces and nephews. Hays was born in Colorado Springs, CO in 1905. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois. Hays married Beatrice Hean of Chicago in 1930. He served during WWII as a Lt. Col. in the Army, working in transportation planning. He worked as an executive in freight management with the Rock Island Railroad. Mr. Heimbaugh retired in 1970 from the railroad freight cooperative and moved to San Diego, CA. After the death of his wife in 1974 he relocated to Friendship Village in Schaumburg. Hays was a longtime member of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church in Roselle. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 14,2002 at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, 903 E. Nerge Rd., Roselle, IL 60172. Interment was held privately.
