I do not question Augusta’s right to exclude women from its membership; however, I do question that a national event is being held at a venue that discriminates against half the population of the United States.
If Augusta wants to exclude women, I say fine, let them. But I think Hootie Johnson and three of his sidekicks will be playing in the final four of the Master’s Tournament.
I would hope that if the event is promoted and televised (unless Augusta members pay for the television time and completely finance the whole tournament), that the Masters would be protested on a large scale.
The days of keeping women barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen are long past, and it’s time for knuckle-dragging cave men like Hootie to crawl back into their caves.
