Frederick J. Ekins, age 83 died in Las Vegas on October 18. World War II vet served in the Navy. Born July 4, 1919 in Fort Madison, IA. He is survived by his wife Mary of Las Vegas; son Frederick T. (Barbara) of Mundelein, daughter Marcia (Greg) Placzek of Park Ridge; brother of Carl Ekins of Evergreen Park; and three grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Memorial service will be held at St. Juliana Parish Chapel on Saturday, November 23 at 10 a.m.
